Hello, to all.

I am new to cpf. this is my first post. I stumbled across a utube video kind of showing how to modificate a 2D-cell mag light, which left me with more questions than answers.

I have a 6D-cell mag light and a few mini mags and I'm not a techy kind of guy, but with good instructions can do just about most projects.

I would like a very, very bright small to medium tactical style flashlight with a long run time and wouldn't mind a project if someone could tell me what to buy, where to buy it, and how to put it all together.

I have looked abit at this site and there is enough to confuse me and interest me.....like a moth to a flame.

Could also just buy a nice bright little rechargable tactical light, plus modificate a mag light, just don't know which little tactical light would be the best bang for the buck.

Thanks so much for the help...........this site is pretty nifty

I have been very pleased with my LumaPower ConneXion; http://www.lumapower.com/ . It uses readily available AA and I save $ by running rechargeables in mine. I recently ordered a NiteCore Extreme for winter use (coat pocket carry) that will give me greater output. The Luma came with a slip case that can be worn on a belt. With heavy cold weather wear I feel it will be hard to reach, hence the addition of a NEX.

im in the same boat and i think i decided on the jetbeam jet III pro ibs military or just M for short , lol

it is under a hundred bucks and is one of the brightest in this league and has many battery options to use in it and this has a simpler two mode ibs deal so basiclaly u can set it and forget it, lol

not to mention it has two led choices me personally like bright white , what they call cold color , and they ahve a very cool color called warm which has more spill meaning flooding and the other has more throw meaning spotlighting , but both do a nice job on both from what i read ,, and it seems it has the longest runtime at 225 lumens max power which i wouldnt use often so i would get even more run time, lol

heres the review http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=211631

read it all u there are pics from other members with it in the hand and beam shots and etc.

after u decide please pm me with what u think

hope this helps

It also offers a hybrid reflector which is both smooth and OP (orenge peel surfaced). I within the past couple days have checked out the III series lights. Most with exception of ST seem a littly bulky for EDC.

Thanks for the direction in which to go.

For both of you guys that responded that is cool, will check these out.

Merry Christmas and to all a good night.....sidzx
