Hey everyone,

I'm kind of new to flashlights and I just noticed the huge difference in performance when Enoloops are used rather than alkalines in my D10.

I have P1D,P2D ans a P3D lights(all q5) and my question is...

What are the batteries(preferably rechargeable) that will give me the highest performance without destroying the modes?

Thank you.

Re: Best Batteriy for P2D Q5?

Actually, All 3 of those lights will have the best performance and runtime on standard CR123 primary cells, but if you want to go rechargeable, the P1D and P2D will need a "3.0V" variety of RCR123 to work properly.

The P3D can take advantage of the higher watt-hour capacity of a pair of 3.7V cells as it's circuit can handle the higher voltage just fine.

For simplicities sake, you might just want to run some 3.0V RCR123s in all 3 lights and suffer with the dramatically reduced runtime.

If you decide to have 3.7V cells for the P3D, and 3.0V cells for the P1d/P2D, then you'll need to own 2 separate chargers and be certain never to get the cells mixed up in the wrong charger.

For 3.7V cells, I suggest protected AW or BatteryStation brand cells.

For 3.0V cells, I tend to suggest LiFeP04 cells, as they are safer and potentially more reliable than voltage shunted 3.0V cells (3.7V cells with built in regulation)....

For more elaborated answers, You could read the "guide" that I wrote on this subject, specifically inspired by the daily "what batteries for my fenix CR123 light" thread, lol.

The link is in my signature. :) (the one about "popular flashlights")

Having as well 16340 LiFePO4 as RCR123 3V at hand for my P2D Q5, I normally use the LiFePO4, but that's only because of a better feeling with it.
