I'm looking for opinions on the best tactical light, with strobe. The light will be for potential self defense The strobe feature I've been seeing around looks effective. I frequently visit large cities, like Philadelphia, that do not honor concealed hand gun permits. So, I'm looking for an alternative.

I don't have much knowledge of lights. That's why I'm here, to ask the experienced and experts.

- Bright
- Coat pocket size, under 10"
- tactical
- Strobe?

Thanks in advance for the help

Get a light by all means but get this as well, and pull it first in a situation.

I carry the Fox 2 Oz. at work and when out and about at night.

I've done all the research, this is one of the best (in my opinion it is the best which is why I use it).

A very bright light is sort of effective to distract a would be attacker if deployed well (strobe doesn't help much but some), but not for long if they are motivated, this on the other hand will pretty much ruin their whole day and will provide you with a better opportunity to exit the situation.

Eyes will involuntarily close, intense pain will distract.

It's much more effective than a light for exiting a situation, a light blinding is only good if followed by an effective attack by you which is most likely gonna be illegal. Otherwise when you turn your back, you now have a pissed off thug who knows you have a light. He might like to take the light from you.

Of course, for traveling you will have to put the pepper spray in your non carry on luggage at the very least for air travel. If they don't allow it in your town I'd still take a loud air horn over a light. a loud security grade air horn may make some attackers actually soil thier undies.
