I picked up one of these cute little Rayovac Industrial lights, but the stock bulb is disappointing, it is dim and yellowish. The bulb is the MiniMag bi-pin type. I don't care to go to an LED upgrade, but I am looking for the best incandescent upgrade available.

I've tried a stock MiniMag bulb (quite old, with the red base) and it's a little brighter, but not much.

When I measure the current, I find about 275 mA drawn, which doesn't seem a lot. I figure if I'm running a pair of rechargeable cells, I could easily drive a 2.2 V 1 A bulb, if there was such a thing.

I've done some searching, but I have not located many leads. Searching for P13.5s prefocals turns up loads of options, but T1 bi-pin not much at all.

Maybe the latest after-market Mag 2AA Xenon Star bulb (is there one for the MiniMag?) is the best available? Can anyone point to anything better?

hi, Mr.Happy

it seems difficult to draw 1.0a current in this T1 size bulb, even make it, its life will be very very short, i think this bulb with spces 2.40V 0.75A should be fit for you.

it is about 20lumen

I've done alot of research here on CPF about this and it looks like your best options in the T1 2AA size are the Nexstar bulbs from Brinkmann and the Radio Shack Krypton bulbs - sorry I don't have part #'s. Evidently these are brighter (particularly the Nexstar) than the stock Minimag bulb. Beyond this, you may have to do modifications which I'm not familiar with. Hope this helps.
