Best thrower under $40

You could go with some DX or KD thrower but I would recommend you to invest some more money in a good thrower.

Well since you didnt specify flashlight or spotlight, how about a Stanley HID spotlight, they can be had for about $70 at almost any Wal-Mart. That'll reach way on past your 220 yards. You just aren't going to get a whole lot for under $40 thats worth a crap.

What he said. The Walmart/Stanley HID is a real bargain. You won't get anything brighter than that without a much larger investment.

Failing that, any spotlight should do the trick. The 10MCP Thor can be found for about $40 and it's pretty awesome.

Maybe not 220 but a javelin host with a xre r2 p60 from dx is real close to your target price. Add just a hair and get the 3xaa extender and you have one heck of a deal. I know I have this setup. And the kicker is aa batts.

Well, i am not too sure if this light will suit you but it can throw pretty far, havent tested it to your range as i do not have many places dark enough and long enough to truly test this light.

I got this light a few years back and found it again while clearing my closet, popped in 2xRCR123s and it was very bright for a Q5, hotspot was tiny compared to other lights i have. Be warned though, it's a DX light and DX lights may need some work on them, this one had some minor connection problems but i couldnt be bothered to take the head apart and use my meager skills to try and tighten connections, re-solder parts etc.

But that being said, it's a pretty nice thrower but i wouldnt rely on it till i did some work on it.

A spotlight might be your best bet for your budget requirement as rightly mentioned in the previous posts.

I bought my Peak PKCOTH halogen spotlight for only $19 at Big Lots and it will easily reach 220 yards and farther.
