I don't need the highest performing batteries if they cost too much premium. I'm looking for the most use/$$ I can find, and they need to be low self-discharging. It's annoying to recharge my batteries every week.

What/where to buy?

Thanks in advance.

One word, Eneloops! You won't have to worry about charging often, as they have a very long shelf life and low discharge rate. I normally get mine from here.

What SEARCH terms did you try before posting?

I find it difficult to comprehend how anyone visiting here doesn't IMMEDIATELY discover the CPF Community 'Preferred Choices' of:

ENELOOPS and MAHA MH-C9000

best VALUE would be the $1/cell rayovac 4.0/hybrid/whatevertheycallitthisweek.
best performance eneloop/duraloop.

eneloop is definitely your best choice.
You should consider safety as your pick batteries.

All the battery answers are here.

You should do a little reading in this category about chargers. and decide if you are willing to spend the $50 on a C-9000 or track down one of the cheaper good chargers. Most chargers are crap and will ruin good rechargeables in a small percentage of the rated cycle life. Duracell has a couple good ones, although their most common one is crap. the eneloop chargers are fine. there are others.

My only comment re the Sanyo eneloop charger is that it doesn't have a cell discharge cycle. And I realise it's a "budget" charger, but a bit more info than a green LED — simply either on or off — would've been nice too.

But yeah, I agree with the other guys. You can't go wrong with eneloops. (But do note there's different AA mAh ratings.)
