I have a Fenix TK20 and love everything about it.

Any suggestions for a twin to the TK20 but with better throw and more lumens?

Thank you!

Whats the budget? NW or cool white? size requirement? battery will still be AAs probably...

TK20 = 6.5k lux.

TK40 - 20k lux
P20A2/MKII - 7.5k lux
Dereelight Javelin - 10k lux

Ummmm . . . .

methinks you took "Quick Reply" a bit TOO literally.

Thank you for all you suggestions; they are wonderful and I am leaning to the P20A2/MKII.

May I please add one additional point. Although I currently have and use AA rechargeable, I would be open to other possibilities, like the 123 etc. However, I have never gone this route before and would need a suggestion regarding a recharger etc.

Also, I need the light to be around or under $100.

Thank you for your educated and honest help...you're great!

The cheapest charger for cr123s is the nano at 8, then its the WF-139 at 16, then its Pila IBC at 50. The favored rechargeable rcr123s, 17670s and 18650s are AW brand. Both the WF-139 and Pila can charge 18650/17670 batteries. You should do more research on these batteries and chargers before making a decision.

On cr123s the best thrower you can get is the Tiablo A10. Anything brighter and the cr123s primaries cannot handle the current, so you'll need 18650/17670s. In that range I believe the Catapult is brightest. Although, you should consider that while throwing a beam of light 300m is impressive you'll need binocs to see that far.

This is a pretty good review site: http://www.light-reviews.com/reviews_18650.html

i have a neutral white eagletac M2SC4. it has a lot more throw and lumens than the TK20. i have both and love them. they go good together since they're both neutral white, too. i used to have a TK40, but sold it and got the eagletac to replace it; i like the NW tint better and the eagletac's selector ring is great.

I just ordered my EagleTac T20C2 MKII a couple of days ago. I have a thread up with some good suggestions reguarding lights I should get. My requirements were a little different than yours but here is the thread:

I'm sure there are better 'recommend-a-light' threads out there than mine but maybe it will help you. SelfBuilt's review of the T20C2 MKII was pretty well the deciding factor for buying one. I feel like a kid before christmas drooling over all the presents I can't open yet waiting for my light to arrive!

I also ordered 2 AW 2600mAh 18650 P26's with a DSD charger from LightHound. I'm acclimated to using CR123 primaries and have been told I will be extremely happy with the new battery selection. Plus they will pay for themselves and the charger once i've charged each of them 3 times each :twothumbs.
