(I had sometime in a waiting room to write about my afternoon)
I first crossed over a few months ago. It was a LumensFactory E0-6 (from the marketplace) that lead me to leave the restrictions of the led world and immerse myself in the higher resolution of uber incans. But I didn't use the EO-6 much (I sheppard my primaries) and the output wasn't great on a single 18650 and though I spent some time with burning fillaments it was always short and limited.
No longer. Today I am a happy incan user.
I'd ordered 18650 extension tube back in September, and because I didn't want to get caught up with any ridiculous delays I ordered a 2nd as backup. I finally recieved one of them today:laughing:.
And I am happy.
As I openned the letter I smiled when I saw it was an extension tube, and it was gunmetal, the same colour as my Solarforce L2. I had my IMR 18650's sitting at 4.0v, so I was able to remove the tailcap, slide out the two 16340's, attached the tubes together, add the 18650's, the tailcap, and I was ready to select my target. I spied a cedar tree across the backyard, just behind the shed. Snow was falling and the sky was dark and grey, though it was 1:30pm in the afternoon. I took aim with my L2 and fired off the WA 1274. Lumens flew straight and true, lighting up the hapless tree.
The colour was bright and white. I was as transfixed as the tree was. It swayed listlessly under the bombardment of snowflakes. I watched them slowly accumulate, my beam was not dimming, not fading, no tint shift to yellow. The extension tube, a simple piece of machined metal, had transformed my incan options. No longer would the incans be short bursts for comparision. With up to an hour run-time, now, I could use them properly, now they would accompany me.
