Big Beam 166 and Q4509 lamp

Really easy mod.
Big Beam with a par36 Q4509 lamp, 13v 100w. I'm feeding it with 2 packs of 11 turnigy AA LSD 2200mah.
By now using a mag switch for test and also have to use shorter wires. 15.3v pack measured after 30min rest, 13.2v just before the switch so maybe I could add another cell without :poof: .
It throws furder than a spheric mag with sst-50 or a ultrafire recoil, anf an impressive amount of flood.

What's your runtime? I have a 104 with a ssc p7, I want to do a similar mod to my next big beam but runtime is a big factor for me in these lights.

Don't know runtime, it's just a fun light for me. Consuming nearly 8Amps and having a total of 4400mAh, about 30-35minutes runtime. For more runtime I would go with a buch of 18650 or better LiPo, this last ones only if you know to use them safely, they are pretty dangerous.

Do some math and figure out what different cell combinations will fit. Try IMR26500s, IMR26650s, A123 26700s, IMR18650s, etc. But you're going to be limited by what voltage the bulb can take.
