Looking around for a replacement for my bike light I kinda got to thinking about a possible light that could still utilise my existing 12v ni-cad battery that is used to power my current 20w halogen front headlight.
I noted Waynes' bike headlight and then thought .. what if -
somebody were to get an Inretech Super Helios 6D chop it down to say 3.5 inches re - thread the end so cap can be replaced. Remove contact spring ( not neccessary ) and bore out a hole to accept outgoing cable coming from Light which internally is linked to a voltage regulator to feed Helios array. A male to female connecter that is waterproof would need to be linked to the outgoing cable which in turn connects to the rechargeable 12v ni-cad supply. Could such a light be made? I know it wouldn't be cheap but then again neither are HID bike lights and I think it'd be fairly easy to mount such a light using a third party holder of some sort. Is this just plain stupid or feasible - feel free to poke fun at my rookie idea.
Hula.
