Got my Premium Plus Cree module today.. I have yet to see beamshots of the module compared to other modules (maybe I didn't search hard enough).. The day has come. Stay tuned for more pics and beamshots. Still daylight.

Can you post pictures of the indiviual module itself? I got a Premium but it does not say Premium.

BTW my unit is very bright. In fact if you shine it at your feet on black asphalt the glare actually hurts. It also is not good for illuminating reflective street lights as the amount of light that reflects back renders the sign un-readable!

The only "Plus" marking is on the label sealing the module in the bubble wrap for shipping. The label on the LED itself says "BOGUSA-Cree-3W LED".

Module shots for now..

The reflector is actually deeper than pictured. It's MUCH deeper. No contact spring was needed to run in my C2. The driver board is exposed like that.

Here's one for right now. This is pretty much close quarters. Light to end of the room is no more than 10-15ft at most.

My premium pluses are like mini-suns. In my Surefire C3, it easily reaches out to the low end of the far range. Beam quality on mine are pefect--nice hotspot combined seamlessly with generous spill... and no artifacts. BOG really did a nice job on the reflector to eliminate artifacts and optimize throw and flood.

My only concern is heat sink. Something this bright must be getting hot, and my C3s and C2s do NOT get warm with use--which may indicate lack of heat sinking.

Looks like a nice module, I saw it won't run on less than 4.5V input voltage though, so I'll have to skip it.

It'll run just fine in a G2 and with no head gap at all! We ran our Cree during runtime tests for 100 minutes continuous and it got warm, but not so bad you wouldn't be able to hold it. Once it falls out of regulation (105 minutes), then you can run it for 3 additional hours continous with minimal heat.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Best Regards,
Flavio

It was brought to my attention via PM that these pictures might not have represented both brands properly. My intentions were not to make one seem better than the other. The pictures were not altered in any way other than to reduce the noise on them. They were taken with an old Sony 4.1mp camera. Brightness will vary depending on how the camera is feeling at that particular moment.
As a consumer I like to "show and tell". Again, take the pictures as one example of the product. As they say, YMMV...

It's clearly obvious one has more throw and one has more spill. Yes in reality one looks a bit more violet than the other. There's no way around it.
As I have stated, each module has it's own purpose in life.

I can't make this any clearer, my intentions on beamshot posts it NOT to put one brand down and highlight another.

My 6P gets warm not hot. The entire body gets an elevated uniform warmth, no particular hot spots. So my guess is the heat sinking is very good as the entire flashlight becomes a heat sink. Oh yeah did I mention it is bright? It makes for a very entertaining light during my evening walks with the wife. It has breathed new life into my 6P!

Who cares if Surefire is coming out with a 6PL? I've already got one!

BOG rocks.

It's a nice and bright LED but a bit too focused for "general purpose" IMO.

I think that's only a problem with the white walls. The stuff at the end of the hall shot looks pretty normal.

Edit. Ok, you're right, I was looking at the Wolf Eyes pix.
