Brightest available red/white 5mm leds?

Can someone point me to the brightest commercially available red and white 5mm leds please? :thanks:

go to ebay look for seller named lvehk, iirc, i buy leds from him all the time, he has pbly the biggest selection on ebay, or anywhere else i,ve looked. never had quality issues with his product.

the nichia GS led should be the brightest, I think.

the brightest 5mm LED are probably 0.5 watt ones but the most durable bright LED is the nichias. The problem with 5mm LEDs is unless you drive them at lower than Vf they don't tend to last as long as the ratings usually claim. I have found overdriving generic LEDs to 30-40ma makes them bright but then they dim after a short while
