I am in for an MS, or two. Those SFNOs are a tad pricey, but I just might bite on 1A4. NO REGRETS!

Congrats to me :twothumbs ! I scored a Mean Street Variant 6D5  . Ships next week...

I scored my top 2 picks as well- can't wait to see them in person!

That 6D5 looks pretty wild! I was considering that one as well. Congrats!

That's funny. I've been looking at the Busse, Swamp Rat, and Scrapyard websites but they didn't seem to have much for sale except for the two anniversary steel hearts. Liked the thin one, but it's WAY more expensive than the thick one ?? What up with that ?

I can see I'll have to frequent their forums to figure them out. Weird way to run a business. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Busse knives are like crack.... They practically sell themselves. I remember back when they were black with grey handles. Before the collectors started gobbling them up, they were actually affordable for the average soldier. Then came all the pretty colors that collectors like....

It's great that Busse knives have such a dedicated following. But not so great that collector demand pushed the prices up into the sky, and beyond the reach of those for whom the knives were originally marketed towards. :shakehead

That's the nice thing about knives and flashlights- there are plenty of choices out there and when one manufacturer gets too popular and raises prices, there's always another maker ready to to fill the gap left behind.

In this case, the same guy who founded Busse Knives was also the one responsible for Swamp Rat Knives and Scrapyard Knives.

A smart man knowing how popular his knives were to have made 2 new lines of similar but cheaper versions...available to more people...:D

From a business standpoint, it makes sense. But from what I've learned, the Founder of the company still wanted the average soldier to be able to afford a tough-as-nails knife. He didn't forget about his original customer-base.

Soldiers and anyone in the Military pays a different price for Busse knives. Jerry Busse sell knives to the Military by the buckets, they are his primary market. They don't have to buy Swamp Rats or Scrapyard Dogs, because Jerry makes sure that the original Busse Combat is sold at affordable prices to soldiers.

Collectors and the civilian customers are actually helping Busse Combat to keep the prices low for the Military market, like subsidies.

Looks like the Founder is even cooler than I first realized.

Thanks for the info.

That is not correct. The Skinny ASH-1 with the Magnum canvas micarta handles goes for 302 dollars, while the Combat Grade ASH-1 costs 297-- without the Magnum handles. If you choose this optional type of handles you are looking at an extra 35 bucks, so the final price is actually 332 USD for the CG ASH-1.

Allow me to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of myself. I watched the ganza, and for the first time EVER...did not send an e-mail to buy a knife (or three).
I knew I shouldn't...so I didn't.

WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!! There were some fantastic one-offs....I really really NEEDED them.....I'm going to go cry in my beer.
