Of the 6 emoli batteries I got a couple of months ago. One is a problem child. It had 0.8 volts while all the rest maintained around 4 volts. Since my Triton2 will not charge that cell because battery voltage is "too low", what are my options?

I thought I could possibly fake the charger into thinking it was some NiMH batteries and let it charge at 0.1Amp until it got over the 1.0 volt or whatever the Triton likes to see the "Li-Po" battery at to start charging, then charge away as a normal Li-Po battery.

Or do I throw it away? OK, recyle.....

Hello Bob,

If it is one of the safe chemistry versions of Emoli cells, charge it at 100 mA as a NiMh cell until it reaches 3 volts.

If is a cell with cobalt in it, recycle it.

Pardon my ignorance, but would it be possible to balance it with the other cells? I would think if you put all 4 of them in a pack the voltages would balance each other out?? Mind you I know nothing about the emoli cells and probably just proved it.

VegasF6, I was considering that, but with batteries that have a pretty good punch to them, I wasn't willing to risk it.

Silverfox, I did exactly what you suggested and it is now charging as a Li-Po very nicely. Thanks.

My Emoli batteries are the IMR26700A, where do I find out if they have cobalt in them?
