can I turn my rr lantern into a hot rod??

This is my brand new rr issued lantern. I really dont use it because its large heavy and does not seem to provide a good amount of light considering the form factor. Any Ideas how to soup this up. the link is the owners manual in pdf format. If nessasary I would provide more detailed photos. Also keep in mind this would be my first mod and I really have no working knowledge of lights. K.I.S.S
