Can anybody recommend any online stores which are "friendly" toward Canadian shoppers? Most websites I visit have astronomical shipping feeds, duties or something other.
Duty/tax is really not something any retailer can control, as long as you buy from outside canada you take your chances. Just avoid UPS, they nail you 100% of the time, even for things you are not suppose to pay tax, alone with their own astronomic brokerage fee.
