New AA NiZn batteries were cycled to see its effect on capacity. A PowerGenix fast charger was used to charge. It charges 1 or 2 batteries at 1500 ma and 3 or 4 batteries at 750 ma. All capacities were measured using an MH-C9000 at a 300 ma discharge current (0.2C). A cycle is a charge followed by a discharge. Cycle 1 used a 750 ma charge current, while cycles 2, 3, and 4 used a 1500 ma charge current.
Here are the results for two batteries:
Cycle 1: 1.828 1.828 V after charge
capacity: 1239 1264 ma
Cycle 2: 1.826 1.823 V after charge
capacity: 1272 1261 ma
Cycle 3: 1.840 1.829 V after charge
capacity: 1311 1278 ma
Cycle 4: 1.849 1.827 V after charge
capacity: 1361 1286 ma
Battery 1 increased in capacity by 9.8% and battery 2 by 1.7%, not very consistent.
