O.K. guys, this is the guinea pig, after 21 days in transit I finally got the Vanson 6988. (Bought from Amondotech flat rate shipping $4.50- 21 days from California to N. Y.)
The instructions have a table stating that for the 1800 mah the time to full charge is 10 hours.

It took 17 hours to charge the 10 AA 1800 mah!!!!!!
It didn't make any spooky noise but it gets quite warm-hot.

I have another charger (no name) that I bought locally that is a quick charger, will do it in 1 1/2 hours. It is only for 4 batteries.
So I am thinking that is better to have 2 chargers and some extra bastteries already full to complete number nine.
and also if a charger broke down, you have another to use.

Another alternative is to just charge the batteries at 3.6 volts in the holder with the triton. Or all nine at 10.8 =P

I had a very similar experience with my new v-6988.
The initial charge for a pair of new 2250mAH AA's was
pretty long, though I don't know the actual time.
Well, I can wait no prob since I have 24 each AA and AAA now.
