Hi, can you guys recommend a charger for me? I'll be recharging AA's for my Fenix flashlights and a Delorme PN-40 GPS.

I'll probably get Eneloops, because of what I've read on this forum.

I've read a bunch of the posts on chargers, but the discussion gets pretty detailed and I'm getting lost.

I don't think I need a top of the line charger with alll the bells and whistles, but I'm unsure what features are "must haves" in a charger. So I'd appreciate your pointing me towards a decent charger.

Also, how is the Eneloop USB charger? I have a small portable inverter in my truck that has a USB port on it. I could keep the USB charger in my truck and use it on the go.

I like this one from Titanium Innovations, the M-8800:

Battery Junction has a 5% off discount code for CPF members too:

For me the most important feature in a charger is that it must be able to monitor the batteries' charge state individually, not in pairs. The way to tell is if the charger will be able to charge just one battery properly. That's an important feature for me because I want to make sure that each individual cell is fully charged, not the pairs of cells. The above charger does that.

I also like to have charge state indicators for each battery, which the above charger also has. It also can charge with only 12V DC, which is great for when I go on long car trips.

La Crosse here - simpler to use from what I hear, than the MAHA, but does what I would like.

Since you're already gonna pay $20-30, just get a La Crosse, or MAHA so you can get the best value out of your rechargables.
