Suggestions for a good charger for AW's 18500 rechargeable Li-Ion batteries?

Since no one has replied, I'll jump in.

I don't use 18500's, but I charge a lot of AW 18650's and I use the DSD charger (6 bucks & change on DX I think). The DSD works fine on my 18650's. I pull them at once when the green light comes on and they always read 4.2 volts. The DSD is slow as Christmas, but I like that. I much prefer a (safe!) slow conditioning charge for Li Ion's. The charging voltage on the DSD is so low that it's hard to damage anything. Two 18650's usually take around 10 hours from fully discharged (all the way til the protection circuit kicks in) to a full 4.2 capacity (the absolute safe charge limit). It's a cheap, simple charger, but mine has worked perfectly since it was new. It charges many cells (18650, 18500, 17670, 16340 or 123a's and more). You can charge one or two at a time. I liked it so well I bought another. I'll usually have 18650's going in one, and 123A's going in the second one. There are no doubt better and much more expensive chargers out there - but this one works great for me. - Larry
