I have an energizer family charger with independent bays and was wondering will this charger work for charging eneloops?

Oh boy. Jcs71, I highly recommend using Google or the search tool before posting such questions. You can be sure you are not the first one to ask this question.

Yes, the Energizer Family Charger will charge Eneloops. Eneloops can be charged just like any other NiMH rechargeable battery.

Which family charger do you own?

This one

or this one

Either way, those specs should help answer your question on if it's independent channel or not. Eneloops can be charged on any NiMH charger, but you are right in wanting a good "smart charger" for them.

No, your Energizer batts are Alkaline type rechargeable, the Eneloops are NiMH (Nikel Metal Hydryte) type batts, complete different chemistry there.

Albinoni, please do not spread misinformation. Energizer has never made rechargable alkaline cells, that was Rayovac's thing back in the day. Rechargeable alkaline cells also need a completely different charger.
