What do you mean by cheap? How much are you looking to spend?

(Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. It costs less to just go ahead and by a PT EOS or Zebralight, than to buy a cheap headlamp and then buy the EOS or Zebralight after you realize that the cheap headlamp is a piece of junk.)

There are a ton of cheap headlamps from the usual Chinese vendors. Try the budget lights forum for specifics.

I think the Rayovac Sportsman 1AA is a pretty decent headlamp even though it uses the older Luxeon emitter and not a Cree. It also has two red and one blue 5mm LEDs. One real nice feature is the built-in diffuser that can swing over the main light or the colored LEDs. I got mine at WalMart for about $20.

I can speak well of the PT EOS as far as a bike light, but my EOS Tactical has a weak hinge which likes to flop down and a PITA of a switch. They offered my an RMA for the hinge floppiness, but its gonna cost another couple bucks to ship it and I just dunno...
