Finally he's at peace.

I had so much hope for him and his family that something would come along soon, some medical discovery that would enable those severed spinal connections to regenerate. There are a few things on the horizon, apparently, but not soon enough for him.

RIP Mr Reeve; you were really Superman to the end. Your strength and optimism will be missed but not forgotten.

Hi All,

I am at a total loss. Last month my Grandfather passed away. Saturday one of my Uncles passed away. Not the best of times to say the least.

So when I heard about the passing of Christopher Reeve, a true Superman on every level, I am once again stunned, saddened and at a complete loss.

Each holiday my family has donated money to Christopher's foundation. My mom has even met him before.

Although he might be gone, Lord knows he will never ever be forgotten.

So in the memory of all those who have passed, I will keep on keeping all.

John

This may be a surprise to you guys, I agree with this authur, except the fact i enjoyed the super man movies when they were made.

I don't know about you guys, but I think that author needs to think a little deeper before writing something like that. He complains that Reeves is self serving....... Look in the mirror, bub.
Moderators, I apologize for the hijack, this is far as I want to discuss it.

I agree. That was a childish rant. There are many, many causes out there that the average person doesn't have the time, understanding or emotional/financial capacity to get involved in. Does this make us bad people? I don't think so.

A devastating illness can be humbling as well as crippling. It opens one's eyes to things that were simply not as apparent before. We should be thankful for what we have before we lose it, but we'll never know what it feels like, never have that real empathy (as opposed to sympathy) without walking in those shoes ourselves.

I stand corrected. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

FWIW, I also think it's a childish rant and the timing of posting a link is in poor taste.

For all I know, maybe C.R. is an A-hole. I don't know, and I don't really care either. I was just trying to say that a link like that is inappropriate for CPF, due to the age of some of our members.

If you haven't yet done so cobb, I would suggest checking out the "other" CPF. I think you might like it.

Sorry Peter - took two hours... I'm slacking in my old age. Feel free to hit the "notify moderators" button for stuff like this. Thanks!
