I was looking at some RayOVac lights in my local Ace Hardware and saw another light that looked interesting. I can't justify spending a lot but I also want as good as I can afford.
This flashlight is a Coast LED Lenser tactical flashlight. It takes 3 AAA batteries. It doesn't state how many watts but says it has 98 lumens. The lense is different from all the other lights I have seen. It looks like it has a magnifying lense instead of flat.
How are these for a budget light? It says it is weapon mountable.

Opinions are divided on LED Lenser's. I don't personally like any 3 x AAA lights, and something about LL just turns me off. If you want something decent and affordable, have you looked at the Solarforce L2 range? Well worth a look if you haven't already seen them. They do a 2 x AA version if you want to run it on easily available batteries. I prefer the CR/RCR123/18650 setup myself, but not everyone wants to fork out for CR123's or use rechargable lithium batteries.

PS: About the LL's lens, I don't know which model you're referring to but LED Lenser do have a nice focusing system, where you can adjust the beam from a tight stop to a wide floody beam. IMO this is the one thing they do well.
