I recently picked up a Coleman Max CR2 light from B/S/T forum. It is quite bright and has a very nice creamy beam, especially for a Cree. I wanted to try a rechargeable solution. The entire LE just slides out the end after you unscrew the bezel. No glue, nothing. So I glued a small magnet to the pills + contact and put a freshly charged 14500 in and wala, works great. You could probly do a solder blob as well. The battery is a bit loose but works fine as is. I'm going to find a cheap shim solution for that as well. I'll do a runtime test on it soon, if I can get 60 minutes that'll be great. Got 20 of the magnets off Ebay for like $2.99 and I had the cell already. The light has a forward clicky too, I like it alot. :D Edit: I cut a strip of paper about the same length as the battery and put 4-5 wraps around it. The paper stays in the tube and the cell slides in easily with little rattle as well.

That's neat! I'd been eyeing the Coleman CR2 but the thought of using those primaries turned me off...now I might go buy one from Target =)

I just ran it for 35 minutes or so, working fine. Just barely warm and hasn't visibly dimmed down yet. Very cheap easy mod, hardly any effort.

Ran it today for another 30 minutes or so, works like a champ. The main reason I like it so much is because the beam on it is amazingly good with nice tint epecially for an inexpensive unit.
