comment on the 3 watt Dx head lamps and mod question.

I just got the dealextreme cree 3w and and seoul 3w headlamp. They suffer severely from a poor reflector and a low bin led. I think. They were about $11.

So I am thinking they may be an easy mod to get a 6 degree and Seoul p4. While alread did an easy power modification: Just pop off one end with screw driver and soldered into + and -, hotglued a 4 AA pack in rear with $3 25 ohm 3 watt pot from radio shack.

But in future, anyone with an opionion of a better lamp body to buy from them for the mod? One that is cheaper but works?

Your post is a bit hard to understand but the 1W one http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1290 can be easily fitted with a Seoul star, it must be direct driven though (from 3xAAA or 2xAA) or too much heat will build up. It essentially has no heatsinking. Also you'll have to grind some plastic off the bottom of the reflector.
