Confused about Fenix AAA lights

Alright, I'm getting ready to replace my old Arc AAA with an equivalent Fenix model. I am SOLD on Fenix lights.

Anyway, I've visited the Fenix site and am slightly confused about the three AAA powered Fenix lights.

The E1 and E0 both use a single AAA battery and both run a Nichia LED with a brightness of 5.5 lumens. They both appear to have the exact same specs as well. Other than the E0 having a slightly larger head, what is the difference between these lights?

I've also looked at the L0D. That one seems to be more like a "real" flashlight that one carries on his/her key-ring.

The E1 and E0 seem to be more direct replacements for the Arc AAA, but the L0D seems like it would be more useful.

Anyway, can anyone give me some more info about the E1 and E0?

Thanks.

the regular fenix site hasn't been updated in a while... try here
the E1 was discontinued i think. its brighter than the EO. the EO is a long running light similar to the Arc. the Lod Q4 will put out 75 lumens.

E1 is discontinued. It used a - for the time - high efficiency LED and circuit so it would run truly flat at about 12 lumens for nearly 2 hours on an alky, very good for the time. It'lll regulate flat for near 3 hours on a nimh and near 6 on an E2 AAA lithium. Its other main distinguishing feature is that the LED is under an AR glass and protected.

The E0 has an exposed LED like the Arc AAA and a fancy circuit so it runs flat at about 5 lumens (close to the current Arc AAA) for a LONG time (I forget how long but considerably longer than the Arc).

The E1 has been a favorite of mine, but all 3 types of Fenixes are very good I think.

(info from FLR)

The E0 runs for around 8.5 hours flat at around 4 lumen on an alkaline battery.

The E1 runs for a bit over an hour flat at around 11 lumen on an alkaline battery.

The L0D-CE is brighter and has different modes but regulation isn't as flat on alkaline batteries(on NiMh and Lithiums it has good regulation).

Of course the LOD Q4 claims

11 Lumens (7.5 lumens with the P4 version) for 8.5 hrs in addition to all it's other modes, so you wonder about the attractiveness of the EO.

Nuclear blast ? Whatever. ;)

Im sure i read a thread exactly like this, no, i mean EXACTLY..

anyway, the E0 is being discontinued, get one now or forever hold your silence...

From what i have read it has a Nichia CS in it. I dont have the CS arc, but i can tell you that the E0 is very very blue next to the warm DS Arc-p. That said, theres something endearing about the E0, i really like it actually, and will start using it properly when my second one that will be kept close to mint, arrives. The E0 regulates a fair bit better then the arc actually, but reports have been that its more like 3lumens(?) which by the way is plenty of light still..

oh yes, the E0 is smaller then the arc..
