Cree Drop-in compatible with 1 primary 123?

Is anyone aware of a Cree drop-in lamp assembly that will work decently with a single non-rechargeable 123 cell? I have a newly aquired 3P that I'd like to bring to life. I'm open to all suggestions, DX, WE, etc...

Don't know about a primary, but my WE D26 HO works with a single R123 that tops off at 4v. I didn't do a runtime test, though. The WE drop-in voltage range, for instance, starts up at 3.7 volts. If your primary is just 3 volts, it probably won't work. Try rechargeables.

It will likely run, but will be considerably dimmer since it would be running direct drive.

Why non-rechargeable? I have the Kaidomain single mode, and it runs fine on 1X17670 (3.7v).

Just checked - the new 4 Mode is rated 2.7 - 6.0v (and NOT 7.4v). Would that work, given the CR123a's flat voltage output?
