I just got a Cree mce mini 1000 lm. The battery it came with is a 3.7 v 2200mAh. Can I get a more powerful battery to boost the power and if so where and how much more power can I safely go to.

No. You can get a higher capacity battery, but that will only extend run time.

I'm not familiar with this light, can you post a link?

Oh, BTW, the Cree MC-E has a max. output of 800 lumens, not 1,000.

That's basically a Trustfire MC-M41 but with 5 modes. Definitely not 1000 lumens, probably closer to 650 emitter lumens if it's driver goes a real 2.8 amps and it's k-bin, no reason to think it'll do both especially with a cheaper battery ie high resistance cell.

I know otf lumens on a direct drive light I custom built using a spare Uniquefire x8 probably has about 500 or so lumens to 650 emitter lumens seems about right.

Wow, ultrafire's shxt again
dont ever trust this notorius brand.
99% of its output is over-rated
the torch in the website is Ultrafire C8 MC-E
(with different marking on the torch, but still the same quality, if you
would do a search on yahoo pictures with ultrafire C8, you will see the similarity)
and this thing will NEVER cost $50
even in hongkong it only takes about $35
in mainland, even cheaper.

single-celled MC-E is not suggested
the cell will have a heavy load over 1C(in case it REALLY gives u 900lm)
Runtime is low, less than an hour
and most case, it wont give u a full output

Hey there... i was just on the site for that light. I wanted to ask u if it's as bright as they claim it is? Also as far as distance how far away would u say this light can reach? Can it at least light up something 150 yards away clearly? I'm thinking a light with that kind of lumen output should easily be able to do that... I'm asking because i want to make sure that i wont b wasting my money on an inferior product. Cuz name brand lights with this kind of output cost far more than this light. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
