Cree Q3 3A - Anyone used one?

Unfortunately, I haven't seen a WJ either... I've only seen WC, WH, 7A and several unknown Q2 and P4's.

Cutter has it listed as new and neutral and i'm unsure what that would look like... I ordered one anyway though :D

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has used one and has an opinion on the tint?

Thanks
I have ten of them. It is better than all the rest of the other cool whites as far as color temp and CRI. However if I was going for output I would get the R2 WH. For CRI I'd pick something close to the 5a.

Thanks for that info. I'm after accurate colour reproduction and will only be running it around 350mA. I haven't seen the Q5 5A emitters/boards for sale... Where'd you get yours from?

Though I haven't used the 3A, my guess is that it will still appear better than the WH/WJ crees that it overlaps with. The Nueutrals use a slightly different phosphor layer, so my guess is that even though they will be the same CCT of 5000k, the neutrals will have a better white balance than the "fringe" cool whites, which tend to look very greenish.

I'm very partial to 5As right now though. All my commonly used LEDs have been switched to 5As. If someone ever offers a group buy of those in XR-E, or even MC-Es for better than the price of cannibalizing those DX dropins, I'd definitely get a whole bunch.

The DX one included postage. Cutter for 1 item is quite expensive with postage, plus for me, an Australian, they add a 10% sales tax. It cost me $26AUD for 1 LED and 2 $3 optics :(
