Just because I can, I took the reflector out of my MTE SSC P7-C high/low light and used a magnifying glass to see the dice on the wall.

Two of the dice are noticeably brighter than the other two.

When I use the wet finger test for direct drive I see the same thing.

Metering all the likely places shows no bad soldering, so it's a LED issue.

I suspect it's why this light has a sort of flaky beam.

Still in P4 fashion it doesn't have a distinct spot, just a bright center smoothly going off into bright spill. A lot like the one P4 I have it is distinctly blueish!

The Ultrafire MC-E LED has 4 equally bright dice! And very nice tint!!!!

I came across this a while back.

different Vf,
some of the die get more, the other less current
no wonder

the only good way of wiring led is in series
have I typed this already this week

i have the same in my earlier p7 before the binning ie wide range(700-900 lumen)

my new d bin(800-900) have all of them even in 3 samples.

coincidence? or tighter tolerance hence more specific range.
