CYGOLITE dualcross led bike light can i use a 6 volt nmh cygolite battery with this light? it comes with a 4.8 nmh battery pack. thanks.

Hi,

All I could say as a guide is that if Cygolite give no indication that it can be used with a 6v battery, it probably can't. (And if it can't take it it could blow part of the driver circuit rendering it useless).

The only way anyone will know better is if they are familiar with components cygolite use. (It may appear as if members here know everything about everything to do with bike lights, but your question may be something few people have ever looked into).

I've run a DualCross with 6 volts packs for an overnight canoe race without any problems. Another time I ran 4S Energizer lithium AA battery pack, about 6.5 volts, for several hours, again without any problems, on a DualCross with Cree Q5's in it. Temperatures were cool, so I don't know if it would work ok in warmer weather.

So, it worked ok for me.
