I just got some 14500's for a D10 GD+ I am giving away for x-mas, I charged them up and poped one in and problems. I think I am having a contact problem, the light only works with the bezel screwed all the way down and has some random flickering. The 14500's a slightly longer than a standard AA but I thought these lights were made to run on them. It also wants to stay in momentary mode when not in that mode. I also noticed a strange burnt circuit smell after removing the li-ion, This light has been nothing but a disappointment from day one.

It sounds like it could be a problem with the cells, does the light still work well with regular AA cells?

What brand are the 14500 cells? I use the Wolf-Eyes cells with no problems, but I have Ultrafire cells that give me nothing but trouble in my D10.

Did you try different ones or just that one 14500? It may be faulty. I use AW 14500's in my D10 without problems like you described.

You said that the 14500 cells were slightly longer than regular AA cells, could you try unscrewing the light somewhat, and see if that helps?

Ok, then are you absolutely sure that they are longer than a AA cell? If they are, then they are proabably too long for your particular light. From the sound of it though, the batteries are just a little too short, and aren't making a good contact.
