Ok, we've seen special metal runs of

- Ti, brass, naval brass, bronze, Ni-Al bronze.

- Bare naked 6061

- Be Cu

What about 7075??? Distressed or HA, she brings a big ol helping of zinc to the table for some serious strength and resistance to deformation. Drop her and she punishes concrete! Colluding to keep her out of the HDS lighting market seems unethical if not illegal in most states (and especially AZ).

I'm buying, who's with me?

Here's something to aid the discussion.
ElectronGuru on Aluminium...

No metal is best at everything so different priorities can lead to different decisions. Here's a quick breakdown on aluminum:

6061 - best corrosion resistance + worst strength + good at finishes

2024 - good corrosion resistance + good strength + good at finishes

7075 - best strength + worst corrosion resistance + bad with finishes like natural ha

So 7 series is a specialist metal, giving up certain benefits to get a single other benefit, strength.

Personally, I don't have a view, just thought I'd drop that one in.

In terms of strength, stainless steel is in any case stronger than this aluminum. Maybe then made body from same stainless steel as a bezel?

Sounds cool............. however how many have actually damaged a HDS? I guess that is not the real point. I might buy...…………..
