What is the difference between the std DBS and the V2 ?

Also, is the digital easy to use or is it bit of a pain in the harris compared to one of the more std switches ?

The DBS V1 is taller than the DBS V2.

The DBS V2 comes in black and has a clip. No clip on the V1.

Everything else is the same.

The V2 is shorter(because of this you can't use the 2SM module with the V2), comes only in Black, and has a clip. I prefer the V2.
I like the 2SD or 3SD much better than the DI. If you press the switch twice accidentally(easy to do with the forward clicky) it starts ramping from lowest to highest. If you are at 50% and want to get to 70% it starts ramping from 5%, not 50%.
Basically look at the DI as a 1 stage programmable pill. I just wish it wasn't so easy to accidentally get into the programming mode.
Edit: Looks like I need to type faster.

I'd go with the DBS V2. It's smaller in size, as mentioned above, the tail switch is easier to press, there are less moving parts, etc. The only reason to get the DBS V1 would be if you need the ability to switch between HIGH and LOW output with the twist so you could use the forward clicky to signal, etc, without worrying about modes changing. Or you could just get a 1-stage pill for the DBS V2 so you could signal without changing modes.

Now that the weather is finally getting nicer here I have been out for two 5 mile walks with the DBS V2 clipped in my front left pocket. I was wearing kahki cargo type shorts (lots of pockets, baggy, etc), so there was plenty of room in the pocket and it wasn't uncomfortable at all for me to carry around. YMMV.
