Someone posted on USN that the Discovery Channel (local) stores were closing, and they are clearing out their inventory. Said that Inovas were as much as 30% off. I've seen X5's X1's, T4's, 24/7's and Bolts in there. Might be worth checking out!

look for a 5mm waterclear led under the bezel, not the rebel LED

The original X1 has a lens, and no reflector. The 2nd and 3rd gen use reflectors, and Nichia CS 5mm and Luxeon power, respectively.

i looked for years for an original x1, when i started looking they had just started making the clear reflector model, I wanted that precise round focus so bad, still do to be honest, but i've given up.

There was word of some floating around, but i don't live CONUS.

i think the closest thing to what i want in a beam is the energizer single nichia, hardcase (LED) model.

they forced me into liking spill. To put it in the words of a funk legend..

Don't know if you guys mentioned it already, but Tadgear has T1's for around $30 in their bargain bin specials list. Older design with Tiros, not the reflector.

I was at the Discovery store in one of the largest malls in America. (Roosevelt field Mall).

The only Inovas they have are X5s and 24/7s, for 20% off. There's a thread floating around on CPF regarding 24/7s that develop large cracks in the plastic housing. In one case, just by being left in one CPFer's car over time.

If you want an X5 for 20% off, well there you go.
