I installed a 50W HID car conversion kit in a cheap handheld spotlight. I fired it 4 times now for about 5min each. Now i noticed some brown stuff condensed inside the bulb just where the spark is. Is that normal for HIDs or did i do something wrong? I can post a photo if thats helpful.
Also, i touched the bulb during assembly and whiped it clean. Is that bad?

Thanks for your help. This is my first experience with HIDs and i really dont want to destroy that bulb.

The solid material inside the chamber is completely normal. They are the "salts" that vaporize when the bulb is on and solidify when off. If you touch the bulb, you should wipe it down with alcohol.
