Just got my new DBS in the mail. Looking to change out the GID switch cover to the black one it is supplied with.

Anyone know how to do this? I don't want to cause damage to the switch.

Thanks.

Take off the tail cap inside you will see two holes, this is the retaining ring that holds the switch securely.
Undo this the switch should come out with it,now there will be a second ring "plastic" undo this and the boot can be changed.Just be careful to tighten everything back up and there you go ;)

[edited] If you wondering what tool to use,i use long nose pliers like these.

Aww, I see....sometimes it is always about the right tool. Thanks!

You got that right! FWIW the forks are 2.5ins long I find this length good for most flashlights.

I almost forgot I ground down the ends to 1mm dia :)

Would you happen to know if the extra switch (the one it comes with in the box) is a direct replacement for the one it came with?

I wasn't sure if I would expect a difference if I used instead.
