Dexlight X.V Cree 5-Mode 1xAA Flashlight for $23.95 shipped.

- Features a CREE 7090 XR-E P4 emitter
- Textured aluminum reflector
- Tempered glass lens with AR Coating
- T6061 aviation grade aluminum body construction
- Mil-spec HA-III Anodized Anti-Scratch Finish
- 10-meter waterproof
- Powered by 1x AA battery (0.7V to 1.5V), 14500 3.6V batteries also work but is not officially supported and is not recommended as it causes permanent damages to the flashlight
- Multi-function twist switch: Mid / Low / High / Strobe (10Hz) / SOS
- Manufacturer's lumens ratings:
- Low light mode: 20 lumens (10 hours to reach 50% light)
- Medium light mode: 40 lumens (3 hours to reach 50% light)
- High light mode: 80 lumens (1 hour to reach 50% light)

Seems the same as JETBeam C-LE, just like X.1 for MK.II X.

14500 is usable but not official supported. There's no mention of momorized function, I think it's old C-LE circuit. Wish they'll raise the PWM frequency like the new C-LE.

Will order one and compare with new version C-LE. :D

Re: Dexlight X.V

seems like pretty good deal
I was thinking on buying the jetbeam for 26: this one seems even a better deal To bad it is so difficult to move around on the website

Re: Dexlight X.V

Got to hand it to Kyle for being business creative...when he tried to sell Jetbeams at much lower price than the establishment, he was forced to pull them because the other greedy dealers cried foul...then he committed to OEM versions and self branded them. Now that is what I call smart. What sucks now is that both DX and KD websites are being hammered with DDOS attacks. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of their competition are behind or have something to do with the attacks.

But anyway, I do applaud these guys for catering to us budget minded flashlight enthusiasts. :goodjob:

Re: Dexlight X.V

How is it that Fenix L1D CE can do 80 lm for 2 hours, when all others seem to list 1 hour? Is Fenix that much better at making lights? Are they exaggerating? If not, then there really is only one choice ... get a Fenix L1D CE ...

Re: Dexlight X.V

NetKidz, thanks for starting this thread. This light was just brought to my attention in the DX JetBeam C-LE thread. Also glad you ordered one to compare and contrast. I just ordered 2 more C-LEs (which I think are a great deal, QC issues and all) from DX last night, and then I see this new C-LE lookalike (except for the bands in the knurling) this morning!

I sent an inquiry to Kyle regarding how the Dexlight X.V came to be. He may not have the time or inclination to shed any light on the matter, but I hope he will.

Re: Dexlight X.V

Sure would be nice if their website actually functioned. :ohgeez: I saw this on their main page earlier but of course the site's not working for me now so I wasn't able to follow the link. Looks like a C-LE though, minus the Jetbeam name - couldn't happen to a nicer guy than Emilion.

P.S. - I was able to open the page now, I noticed that 'Dexlight.com' is printed on the light, but no such site exists at the moment - could be a sign of things to come, hopefully for us this means the possibility of even more higher quality DX branded lights like this one. Also, I think it's foolish to claim that using a 14500 battery 'works' with the light and even showing multiple photos with a 14500, despite the fact that it usually damages the lights. I know DX and KaiDomain are very honest in their descriptions of their products and it's nice that they go into such details, but this is practically promoting the use of a 14500 while admitting it's a bad idea at the same time. :p

Re: Dexlight X.V

Ordered one XV from DX! Their site has been kinda slow but at that price I could not resist! I will post my opinions of the light when I get it.

I'v never really ordered a light off the cuff,... but I did on the X.V .

For a while DX was up and running just fine and I said sold.
Could it be an OEM version of the C-LE 1.2 @ $23.96.
Great cause I don't own a JETbeam.

You win some, you loose some, hopefully the X.V is a win!

I'm tempted to order this but I am resisting because it might not be safe to use the 14500 - the Rexlight isn't really great unless you use 14500's !?!

jetbeam's gonna go outa bussiness if these wannabes arent actually theirs.

Re: Dexlight X.V

There is no way to conclude that Kyle is not partnering with Emilion, or bought the rights to the JB designs. Emilion did say that the MkIIx was "probably the last member of MK II"

My take on it is this: the module can handle it, but it drives the emitter hard enough to shorten its life or ruin its tint.

Do some really think all the flashlights produced have their own manufacturing facility?
If any of us had that same opportunity, we would jump at the chance to develop lights. Bright move on Kyles' part.

Safe to say, there are a bunch of people putting 14500 in their C-LE, knowing they're playing with a short wick...

Also, does anyone believe the DDOS attacks are random? NO WAY....., that's a hired hit.

~ just opinion

On a lighter note, looking forward to getting a DX.V

Got X.V today but don't have much time to test it. Will do more comparison including runtime next week.

It's not new C-LE v1.2. It's like the old version Group Buy C-LE with hidden/locator mode. The same low PWM frequency. The grip feel better than my C-LE.

$23.95 shipped with a holster and lanyard, it's still a great value if your eyes are not sensitive to low frequency (flickering). :)

It needs the foam donut (included) to keep the battery from rattling.
I assume that goes in on the +ve side? No?

Thanks,

-Gary

I just got mine yesterday and it is a great light for the price. It feels solid, the machining is great, and it has excellent output for a AA cell. Also, mine is snow white. On mine, though, you have to be fairly quick about switching modes in order to get it to switch. So that makes me wonder whether it might not have the guts of the updated CL-E. Still for the price, this is an excellent light.
