Did I screw up by fully discharging my LSD nimh's?

Unknowingly, I placed my brand new LSD C-cell NIMH's on the discharge cycle on my Vanson/Tenergy speedybox bc1hu. I found that most all people are saying that is not good at all. Did I mess up the voltage, capacity, or life of the batt?

As long as you didn't discharge them and leave them like that for an extended period of time, you're fine.

By using the discharge function on a charger you are not dropping the voltage of the cell to damaging levels.

Thats reassuring to hear. Thx for the quick resposne. I charged them right away after the discharging. Some customer reps I spoke to said that it is ok to discharge NIMH's sometimes.

Discharging batteries with the discharge mode on a charger is no different than discharging them through actual use (actually its safer since the charger has automatic controls to stop the discharge at the right time, but something like a flashlight will often discharge batteries to dangerous levels before you notice).

If you discharge NiMH batteries before charging them it can help to prevent a damaging overcharge due to missed termination, so that also makes it a good thing.

In summary what you did was all good and has no bad sides at all.

Oh thank goodness. I appreciate your knowledge both of you. I couldn't exactly find what I was asking through the searches and had to post. I feel much better now.

So a discharge cycle before a long term cold storage in the fridge. I am wondering if a 3-4 year storage will be ok after the thaw.
