Usually, sunny daylight is quite cool, but as it is VERY bright, it isn't perceived so. The darker light of a certain color temperature is, the cooler it seems. That's one of the reasons incandescent lightbulbs look so natural, but you still have to adjust your cameras white balance heavily.
Thus, a cool LED tint is closest in color temp to daylight, especially to stray light (like in shadows), but a warm tint seems much more "natural". Besides, a general problem of LEDs is color rendition of reds, and afaik the warm tints are a little better at that.
