Does Arc LS mate with SureFire?

Simple question. Is the threading of the Arc LS head compatible with that of some of the SureFire lights, such as the executive series? (E2E and the like.)

What about the other way around... SureFire head (like a KL1 or KL4) on an Arc LS battery tube?

Threads are compatable but you do need to play a bit. The older Arc heads were a better match up due to their larger OD:

With the current Arc heads, I think the best bet is to use an E1 if you can get a hold of one. The shoulder of the E1 needs to be ground or turned down and you need a batter spacer to make contact:

i modified the head of my arc grey kit to fit on my e2e as don has above.

it's been at the annodyzers for 8 months though, so i haven't got a chance to finish modding it or use it yet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

What about the opposite. Is it possible to use say an original ARC 123 twisty pack with a KL4 head or something like that?

How about a TSP-2AA with a McLux-PR head? Would that work?

No go on the original Arc 123 twisty pack and SureFire KL4 head. Just tried them. The cell in the Arc 123 pack sticks up way, way too far for the KL4 head's threads to engage the threads on the Arc's body.

With the cell removed, the two pieces will mate and screw together properly, so there is no thread pitch mismatch. The KL4 head screws down and covers about half the threads on the Arc body before it stops. This is consistent with the amount of threaded area on the SureFire body vs. the Arc body.

i think that if the arc pack gets some of the top removed, it may work, but i haven't tried it so can't personally say...

an adapter can also be made to mate a surefire or mclux head with an arc pak.

try a cr2.
might be short enough to fit.
iirc a cr2 is 7? mm shorter than a 123.
