Does everyone else like to have only one brand of batteries?

I guess this maybe a little OCD but I like to have all my batteries of the same brand and model for some reason, in fact I just sold my really old Duracell 2300/2500 and some 2650's on ebay and am starting to replace every battery with Duraloops since I got a good deal on them.

Even if I saw a really good deal on another brand LSDs I probably wouldn't buy them as they wouldn't match my other batteries. I also like batteries with a nice design rather than plain white like Eneloops and the Duracell precharged probably have the nicest design I've seen.

Is anyone else like this?

I have a few sets of batteries (rechargeables actually) of different brands - 4 AA Energizers, 4 AA Duracells, 8 AA Ansmanns and so on. I try to have one main set (like 2 AAs) for each device and one spare set of batteries of the same brand for each thing in my house that requires them.

Not here! The way I see it, you're limiting your horizons by keeping all your batteries and such the same. If you don't try other brands, new, or old, you'll never have a first hand opinion of how they perform. Then again, I'm not one that's into wearing blinders, and I'm not easily herded either.

I have certain opinions about battery cells, chargers, and lights etc, here on the Forums. The reason I have these opinions, is I have tried many of the possible options, which led me to my conclusions. If I had only favored one brand and used it exclusively, my opinion wouldn't be worth much, and I likely would not offer one, as I wouldn't really know, would I? :)

Well from what I read on here it seems pretty obvious that Eneloops/Duraloops seem to be the best so that's what I bought, I guess I let the others do the testing for me lol.

Rechargeable I have tons of different ones, Alkaline Yes, it's either RayOvac "not often" but 95% of the time I use Berkley & Jensen, super cheap, and they have never leaked. 48 pack for $7.99 = WIN:D!

No. Different cells and lights have different strengths and weaknesses. I try and match lights and cells to achieve an end result that I am happy with... depending on how I use each light.

brand loyalty doesn't last forever, seems sooner or later some other brand makes something better or the top brand goofs and makes something bad. when it comes to alkalines I use any brand based on the price/value and rechargeables I would do the same. It is nice to have all eneloop/duraloops but if rayovac hybrids are half the price having some of them to use in stuff isn't a horrible deal as is buying generic alkalines for some uses. If a company were to make generic precharged batteries that performed better than eneloops for cheaper I guarantee you that folks in CPF would be gravitating towards them.

Yep. I prefer Duracell rechargeables, knowing they are mostly from Sanyo...and honestly, if Duraloops and Eneloops were on the shelf right next to each other, for the same price, I'd take the Duraloops because they have a better wrapper. "Real" Eneloops just look like chinese bulk stuff to me, like the standard "blue" Chinese lithium ion.

I like Energizer primary batteries mostly because I use a lot of the lithiums.

Really? I think they look sharp, very "clean" looking. And that font has something going for it as well. (Anyone know where I can download an eneloop .ttf?)

People said Google's home page looked terribly plain when it first came out. And now all this time later they are making a veritable killing and are still remaining clean.

I for one hope Eneloops don't turn into something looking like pure hype. Plain looking == more on the shelf for me!

That's exactly the problem, and probably why Eneloops are kinda rare while Duraloops are not. The consumer does not want to buy something that looks plain and generic, even if it is from the best brand in the industry. Maybe that means "more on the shelf for you", but to the seller, that means "we aren't selling this crap, get rid of them".

I don't think the Duracell wrappers have anything to do with "hype", they have little more than the Duracell logo and a very accurate capacity rating. I do see where some of the other MFGs love the "hype", and I wish they would be punished more often for inaccurate ratings.

you rarely see any sanyo batteries for sale in the US, it may be possible that battery companies that rebrand their batteries (sanyo) have a deal that they won't sell any in the US through B&M stores it is possible a few stores are exempt from the sales because they require membership so not a general public sales venue.

Err...

The design of a battery's labeling would have to be the absolute last thing that'd influence what type/brand I bought.
In fact, now that I think about it, I wouldn't consider it at all.

I buy whatever brand of alkalines are on sale.

All of my rechargable AA's and AAA's are Duraloops.

All of my Li-Ions are AW.

I have several brands of CR123 primaries.

All of my lithium AA primaries are L91's

So I guess I'm fussy about some types (rechargables especially) and not about others.

I buy as many different brands as possible. That way I don't accidentally mix the sets up.

The only critical device is my digital camera where I alternate Eneloops and Duraloops.
Most everything else don't care if I use Eneloops, Duraloops, ROV Hybrids. or Pure Energy NiMH pre-charged.
