Just got mine today:

First impression was, wow, this light is bright! As should be expected since it uses 6 AAA and is definitely not a penlight. Almost the size of a 2D Maglite, only thinner (sexier mid section curve).

Two light settings, high and low. Low's brightness not much lower than high. Researched a bit but found no mention of run times. The only issue I have is the optics are not very good, has two spill rings around a bright central spot. Bright central spot is not a perfect circle.

I am generally happy with it. Cheap, very bright light that uses cheap batteries.

$39.99+ from Target.

My Dorcy 6AAA K2 has O-rings, both front and back.

I heard from a friend with the same light that it gets hot if left running for a few minutes.

Any ideas concerning runtime, can you imagine the logistics of supporting a "6" cell unit?

According to my friend, he ran it for an hour and it was still going when he shut it off ... so more than an hour. I hate to waste 6 AAA just to test so I won't know.

You've got a valid point there, I've got to give these units a closer look. I've given all my Metal Gear units to the women at work.
