Is there any other light that is comparable to the Draco for the same or less money?

I really like the form factor of this light.

you can get a Peak matterhorn and the body that will fit a 10280 rechargeable cell. I would suggest calling peak for that though. Have not had much luck with email. www.peakledsolutions.com

I do not believe that there is anything remotely close to the Draco in function, fit, size for the money.

Draco, Draco w/AAA body and Turbohead, TiCR2 ION

"N" cell or 10280 only use same battery, they are larger lights without multiple level.

TnC and Peak "N"

Orb NS, TiCR2 ION

Hate to hijack, but jeffb can the draco actually RUN off an AAA battery, or is that just for size and it actually still requires a Li-ion?

:thanks:

Presently have the Cree "Plug-in" with the 10440 cell (no turbo allowed w/Cree) and an AAA does not work.

You might chec with Modamag for a definitive answe, but I believe that the converters (both "original" and Cree) were made for Li-ons.

You might be able to find a light of similar size........ But "comparable" to the Draco's CRAZY BRIGHT high level??? Let me know if you find it !!!!

I am not aware of anything comparable to the Draco (I have two, a Ti and Chrome). I also have a Ti CR2 Ion Xt, Orb NS, Katokichi Ichishiki LE CR2, Jil Intelli CR2 and Peak Pacific CR2. They all seem massive compared to the Draco, becuase of the Draco's much smaller diameter. The Draco, in additon to being very well made, is both functional and really has a WOW factor, as it is incredibly bright for its size. The ARC AAA-P is more comparable to the Draco in diameter, but is whole lot longer (and not nearly as bright). I replaced the AAA-P with a Draco on my keychain. However, it is tempting to me to use the Draco at full blast at all times, where it has more limited runtime.

I doubt you could get anything like the Draco for size (47 X 13mm) and features, but a cheap alternative would be the Fenix LOD CE (74 X 14mm) on li ion 10440. Much longer but still pocketable
