I'm so ticked off right now I can barely stand it. I went to the gym tonight and put my car keys on the key shelf like I do all the time. Less than an hour later when I went to get my keys, I immediately noticed that the draco was missing. I know for an absolute fact that it was on the key ring when I put it up there.

It blows my mind that someone would take it.

I told the girl at the front desk that I was 1000% that a thief is afoot, and asked her to have the owner of the gym call me so I can ask about reviewing the surveillance footage. It was pretty awkward telling this 18 year old girl that I had a $175 flashlight stolen from my keys. She just looked at me funny when I was explaining the value of "just a keyring flashlight."

Anyway, I just needed to vent.

I am beyond annoyed.

I know I'll never see it again. Now I have to decide whether to order another one. I don't even know if Jonathan is still making these lights.

Wow, that sucks. Hope you can identify who took it... But why would they take only the light? Why not your keys? It must have been somebody who knew a little about the value of that light...

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

That super sucks. But at least they didn't take your keys. You could still drive home, not need to change the locks, etc. Still sucks big time though. Maybe time to change to a Fenix E01 for your keychain?

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

Good thing the car wasn't stolen? I don't leave my keys in public.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

My condolences man. It really makes you think about key chains and miniaturization nowadays. Its nothing compared to your loss, but with my flash drive and my own edc and all the clips and rings and whatnot, my key chain probably is worth like 75 bucks, and it would suck to lose it.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

That sucks. What sucks worse is the person probably won't be able to use it after the battery dies.
They won't have a clue how to recharge it or they will be looking at a primary for it.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

This is why I like to clip carry things on my pocket. If they swipe it, I'll know it, and hopefully I'll have an opportunity to introduce them to 4 inches of solid steel.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

trust is 1 thing, caution is another.

id never leave anything of value thats pocketable unattended in a public place.

your lucky you still have a car.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

I'm sure he knows he messed up, no need to rub it in.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

Somehow I doubt that the thief knew about the value of the light. I frequently notice that lots of people who place their keys on the shelf have lights of one sort or another on their rings. I just picture someone who likes flashlights thinking, "I'd like to have that bc it looks cool."

I thought the same thing.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

I had a similar thing happen to me a month ago. I was using the computers in my local community college and I keep my new 128Gb flash drive on my keyring. I completely forgot about the flash drive being still in the USB port, and headed to class. Halfway through class I needed my Flashdrive to load Windows 7 Pro onto it and realized that it was still in the computer lab. I raced in there and the thief was nice enough to return my keys, but snagged the flash drive. It was dumb of me to put a $300 flash drive on a keyring anways. I'm luck the thief didn't head to the parkinglot looking for my truck. He would have found 3 x JL 500/1 amps, In-dash TV, 2 JL 12's, 2 JL 10's and my backup pistol. (perfectly legal here in Michigan, even in a school parking lot).

I hope the surveilance video shows who stole your light.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

Damn man, this sucks! I would be surprised if the owner will let you review the tape, but who knows. I hope you get your light back, one way or another.

I hate to be a prick, but I just noticed the irony in your screen name.

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

It's good to know there are still honest people out there.

I don't trust anybody.

I hope you find out who stole your l'il Draco.

::mecry::

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

that's really sad. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. This is why I don't leave my lights unattended... (and I might need them!)

Re: Draco got stolen this evening

Please let us know if you see the tape and can ID the scumbag!

I was thinking the same thing, since whoever took it probably just thought how cool it looked, never thinking what it used for power.

I'm hoping that there is something helpful in the tapes, but if not, contact Jonathan about what he's still got in stock. :sigh:
