I am curious if either of the drop in cree modules from deal extreme or kai will work with a SL pro polymer?

I have seen that before. The results sound great, but it looks like a pretty challenging mod. I was hoping there could be something a little more simple.

Aside from the pro poplmer.... any 4x aa polymer light that could accept a drop in cree module would work great for me.

The reflector diameter of the 3C pro poly is 38mm. It is also much taller than a 'p60' drop in. An adapter could be made to fit into the top of the 3C to hold the 26mm dia dropins and move them back, but youd have to assemble the light carefully. Easier to get a 3 or 4 C mag and use the terralux cree module from batteryjunction. The dropins could not be adapted for the 4aa because I believe the contacts are not coaxial in that light, they're side by side.

Even if they are side by side... I think it would be easier to mod that to work, than to switch out the emitters... I think if the diameters were close to the same, and there was room behing the module, there would be some way to make it work.

I am surprised more people have not tried this yet. I suppose its because there are allready so many lights that work good for the drop in.
