While out riding today, I stopped on this bridge to admire the scenery and all of a sudden my Surefire Backup on a Vital Gear body with my house, and garage keys on it fell into the local town pond!!! There is a bridge that goes around it. I had them attached to the chest strap on my Maxpedition Falcon II and the they were forced off while leaning on the rail. I stood there watching helplessly as they fell into the NASTY MILL POND!!!:ohgeez:This pond is KNOWN for being REALLY GROSS.
I was fortunate to be able to contact my Brother who has a spare set of house keys. I rode back to my house to meet him and discuss how to retreive them. I had a large Magnet from a subwoofer that I tied a rope though and my brother was able to fish them out within about 3 minutes!!
I thought for sure that I was gonna have to go swimming in that nastiness.

The funny thing is, I was just saying in another thread that now that I attached my keys to my light I'd loose 'em both.....how ironic!!:ohgeez:

Oh well, I was pissed off for a little while, but all is good now!!!

Needless to say, I'll be more carefull for now on:whistle:

I assume the light still works?

Perfectly!

When I got home I turned the Hot water up as hot as I could and scrubed it with antibacterial soap.

As for pics....Theres not much to show other than the magnet on a rope that saved the day!

Right when it happened I drew an arrow on the bridge to help me find the location after leaving to meet my bro. When I returned the arrow made it easy to pick up where I left off.

When it was happening, it was like in slow motion, and I knew there was nothing I could do at that moment to stop it. That was a bad feeling. Almost like watching a friend getting shoved in front of a speeding semi truck:(....well actually not quite that bad, but it Sucked Bad!

I'm just glad everything turned out alright.
