Duracell 2 X 123A

Just before the holidays I picked up one of the Duracell 2 X 123A because I had a coupon at the local ACE Hardware. I would like to protect the lens or replace it but have not been able to get the bezel off. Anyone done this before?

I had the 2C version, and if I remember correctly, it just screws off where it angles out at the end of the bezel. Be careful though, if the lens and springs pop out, it's a pain in the rear to get everything back in.

It may be lightly glued, mine busted loose without the use of tools...

It must be glued. I also have the 2 X AA and decided to try a removal on that. Used multi-layers of electrical tape on the barrel and bezel. Clamped in vise and put channel lock pliers on the bezel. Nothing moved and I dinged the bezel a little. I guess I'll give up on the idea.

Did you try right at the very end of the bezel? The piece that un-screws is about a 1/2 inch wide right at the top.

If I still had the light I would post a picture...

Yes, the pliers were on the flared part of the bezel.
