Hello.
Can I ask for some views on DX dropins please ?
From members that have them, which they think are the best for the buck ?

I got the SKU 6090 here. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6090

I am not very impressed with it, not very bright, purpleish tint, or was I expecting too much for $10ish ???

I am looking for a good dropin for a 6P/Maxfire type light, I am purchasing one of Gene's M60 dropins, but don't want to spend $90 on 2.

Thanks.

No experience with DXs, but I can tell you the 170 lumen Bug-Out Gear drop-in I received last week for my 6Z is very, very nice.

I chose it because it was the right price, and it has a large brass heatsink.

The output has proven to be exceptional. Very bright, clean white, and spot-free. It has a ton of throw. I beleive it is because the reflector is much longer and narrower than the stock P60 bulb I replaced.

I just put a DX (SKU: 1343) in a Maxfire and it's very bright with a white beam. It's as bright as the original $12 DX I have in a G2, but with a wider beam due to the Maxfire's bezel. Very satisfied for the $$$ and it fits both lights without any mods (unlike the $12 drop-in).

Do a search for DX 6090 review in the Google Search-CPF only bar at the top of every CPF page.

Ive used all the drop-ins....from $7.-55.00, and I prefer the Malkoff DX Cree P60. Good tint, great throw, long run time, and hand-made by Gene. One of the big differences is the heat issues. Most of the other drop-ins all lost output after a few minutes. As a Cop in Milwaukee Ive had Gene's drop-in turned on for over 30 minutes straight, in a SF 6P, without a loss of output. Even some of the more expensive drop-ins lost output after 10 minutes. I have a drawer full of drop-in modules not being used and 3 duty lights (two SF 6Ps and a 9P) installed with Malkoff P60s.

Is this (or another type) still available? I did a search at BOG and came up empty. I've got a G2Z and a Maxfire that "need" to go LED soon and I am looking for a well-regulated LED drop in for each of these(the Maxfire may be used continuously, so I don't want the emitters overheating).

OK...after further reading, it looks like most any P60-equivalent drop in should work...right? My guess is that if I order (2) "plastic body" P60 drop-ins, I'll be able to drop one in the G2Z and trim-to-fit one for my Maxfire....right?
Thanks all.
